These are the 4 strategies we used to blend style with practicality in a child-friendly home
Ever wondered how to blend style with practicality to create a child-friendly home?
Looking at my munchkin niece and nephews, and speaking to friends with kids, I think it’s a fair statement to make that kids are pretty messy, right? And they don’t really give a sh** about your gorgeous space (should they?).
But, you just might ;)
So, fresh from a recently completed project, read on for the 4 specific strategies we used to seamlessly merge beauty with child-friendly practicality throughout a home:
Create dedicated kid-friendly zones.
For example, consider setting up a dining area near the kitchen with special tableware for fun and breakage-free meal times.
Scatter bean bags and pouffes throughout your home.
This provides comfortable seating options for kids, allowing them to roam freely. Coordinate the pieces with your existing furnishings for a cohesive look, as we’ve done in this main living area and smaller family room.
Utilise baskets for both style and function.
These versatile and impromptu storage solutions are perfect for keeping toys and blankets organised and accessible throughout your home.
Infuse playful elements into your decor and art.
Consider mounting mirrors at varying heights or incorporating decorative objects with a whimsical touch, creating a space that sparks joy and imagination.
